When we travel today, when we transport goods, we are often “in the dark”, that is we don’t really know in advance if there are traffic problems on our route – or how to avoid them – and we don’t know how long the journey will take. We also don’t know if or where a parking space may be available, or if there are convenient public transport alternatives to driving. A truck driver or fleet operator doesn’t know if a space will be free for loading or unloading.
