En bæredygtig by kræver bæredygtig mobilitet. I 2013 begyndte Københavns Kommune at skabe fundamentet for en ny generation af intelligente trafikløsninger. Det første skridt var at modernisere alle styreskabe I byen. Andet skridt var at gennemføre en Offentlig-Privat Innovationsproces, som skulle udfordre branchen og videninstitutionerne til at udvikle innovative, men realistiske ideer til nye intelligente trafikløsninger målrettet grøn mobilitet. Det tredje skridt var at anvende byens eksisterende infrastruktur kombineret med nye ideer fra de første to skridt til at igangsætte et større arbejde med signaloptimering langs et sæt korridorer samt implementere et trafikledelsessystem og tilhørende sensornetværk. Her i slutningen af projektet rejses spørgsmålet: ”Hvordan skal Københavns Kommune skalere de implementerede løsninger og anvende disse løsninger til at understøtte byens mål om at være CO2-neutralt i 2025?”. Dette spørgsmål vil blive besvaret i denne artikel.

A sustainable city requires sustainable mobility. In 2013, the City of Copenhagen started working on a new generation of intelligent traffic solutions. The first step was to upgrade the traffic signal controllers. As a second step, the City organized a Public-Private Innovation (PPI), in which it challenged the industry and knowledge institutions to come up with innovative, yet realistic ideas for new intelligent traffic solutions. The third step builds on the successes of the first two steps and includes traffic signal optimization along a set of corridors, introducing a sensor network and a city traffic management system. The main question for the City of Copenhagen after the third step is now: “How to scale up the successful solutions and the use of these solutions in order to create a big impact and contribute significantly to the goal of being CO2 neutral by 2025?”. This question will be answered in this article.

In November 2015, the City of Copenhagen kicked off six well-defined intelligent traffic solutions that are operationalized and tested in 2017 and 2018. In this paper, we look at two of the six ITS solutions: “City Traffic Management System” and “Signal ptimizations” and ask ourselves the basic question: “Have we been smart in designing and implementing these solutions?”
